Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was one of the best I can ever remember.  My folks were in town for 7 days; we had two huge parties at our house, we saw a great concert at Bass Hall, and we ate more good food than anyone should eat in a month.  The highlight of the week was having family over at our house after Thanksgiving for a party that lasted into the morning.  Having some time off puts things into perspective and reminds us of what's important.  We would all love to hear your Thanksgiving stories if you feel like sharing.  What was special about your Thanksgiving break?

For the first time in my career as an educator(12yrs) my husband took vacation the same as mine. We had wonderful undivided attention with our children and a few surprise babysitting offers which allowed us to hang out with eachother sans the kiddos. I was quite sick the first half of the week so his presence here to take care of the kids was a HUGE blessing. Our time this week as a family was priceless. One of our favotite family traditions is to go watch the tree lighting in Fort Worth the day after Thanksgiving. The best is yet to come since we will ALL be off again together for Chrismas break.

We had a great Thanksgiving. My husband was off for all but one day, and we enjoyed our time as a family. Trey is really interested in history and was asking about JFK. We took the train to Dallas and visited the JFK Sixth Floor Museum. It was very interesting to use the headsets and listen to the story of JFK. I now want to watch the movie. We visited our families in West and White Settlement. Tony and I even had a great date night at the Stockyards. I spent one glorious day just sitting and reading books, something that I love to do. I finished two books, and I am now on my third. I hope everyone had a great week as well. I can't wait to hear about all the exciting things everyone did on the break.

I really enjoyed my break. It was nice just to be able to sleep in and not do a whole lot! I spent time with family, eating, shopping and watching Birdville win their football game!

What a nice break, I loved having some extra time with the family; it seems we do not realize how much time we are away until we spend time at home. I actually had time to work on cleaning out our shed and garage. It took practically the whole week to find my way out of the abyss. Had a great time and ate far too much. I am an early bird even during time off so I enjoyed the me time relaxing and just contemplating the universe of the mornings.

Amazing family time! We had 25 people over for Thanksgiving dinner and went to the Fort Worth Zoo this past Saturday. It was just a blessing. I am voting on option C for next year calendar!

Around this time of year my husbands family joins us for the holidays and also my brother-in-laws family has been added to our numbers the last 2 years. My husband and I open our home and host Thanksgiving and we love it! I enjoyed spending time with our families and most of all spending time with just my husband and son. The spirit of the holidays is a Wonderful feeling!

This Thanksgiving was very exciting but very different. My family sent the week moving into our new house. Yeah! We have been looking forward to this for sometime and it was truly something to be thankful for when Thursday finally arrived.

My Thanksgiving break was also spent with my husband taking a week off from work. We headed to the deer lease in Rule for the first half of the week, enjoying some much needed quiet time. My hunting this trip was for great camera shots with my dog as a "willing" subject! Tuesday night we headed home, leaving for Longview Thursday morning, We surprised my dad(my momma's primary caregiver) so he could go have Thanksgiving lunch wtih my brother's family--the look on his face was priceless! So thankful to have a few more days to visit with them. Looking forward to Christmas!
